The Voice

Attorney Jake Lindsey has always prided himself on his logical mind and sharp reasoning. He has long ago dismissed the idea of a higher power or the existence of a guiding voice in the universe. But one fateful day, as he finds himself in the cockpit of a small plane with an incapacitated pilot, everything he thought he knew would be put to the test.

Mid-flight, disaster strikes as Jake's pilot suddenly loses consciousness. Panic grips Jake's heart as he realizes they are now hurtling through the sky with no one at the controls but him. In that moment of sheer terror, it’s his mayday call over the radio, cutting through the chaos and confusion that puts him in position to encounter the power of God.

Jake finds himself following the instructions being given to him by an unknown man on the other end, calm and steady, guiding him to safety. A realization dawns on him - this voice, this guiding presence, was the lifeline he needed in that moment of crisis. It is the voice of a man he can not see, can not touch, doesn’t know and furthermore a voice he had never heard that he has no choice to listen and obey or die leaning to his own understanding.

Through the stormy skies and turbulent winds, Jake clings to that voice like a beacon of hope. And as the plane touches down safely on solid ground, Jake feels a sense of gratitude unlike anything he has ever experienced before. In that moment of vulnerability and desperation, he has learned the true value of listening, of trusting, of obeying and of believing in clearly hearing the voice of God.
