The elected officials of Morgan City, Georgia have forgotten what year it is. Stuck in the early sixties, the community suffers from racism and corruption. Since the beginning, Morgan has been governed by the Lockhart Family, passing the mayor’s position down from generation to generation, until a window of opportunity opens and the need for change is sensed amongst the community. Tyler Smith, a noted Assistant District Attorney finds himself being nominated by the NAACP to challenge the Lockhart Family and run for mayor. In addressing the flaws and corruption of the Lockhart Family, Tyler is forced to acknowledge his own history of secrets and lies. To break the tradition of a corrupt family, Tyler must overcome his own family’s history.
